Runtime error 1004- How to fix?

When you start Ms excel to create sheets or when you start a macro which copies worksheet and then seats the worksheets in the same work book from which they has been created then suddenly you receive runtime error 1004.  Your receive this error when you give a defined name to the work book and then at several times you copy the worksheet  without saving and closing the workbook.   If you copy number of worksheet and before that if you don’t save the workbooks which differ in the size of worksheet then you receive this error.

Runtime error 1004 occurs while performing various other programs in your system.   But he reason for occurring the runtime error is same that is missing of any file or presence of any junk files, pirate bay and virus in your system.  You need to fix this error immediately so that you can prevent your computer from creating any other problems.

Why this error occurs?

Runtime error 1004 occurs if you don’t save the workbook and go on copying number of worksheet at a time then you receive this error.

 What are the symptoms?

“Run-time error '1004': 
Copy Method of Worksheet Class failed”
or
“Run-time error '1004': 
Application-defined or object-defined error”

How to fix this runtime error 1004?

To fix this error you must save the workbook first and then copy a worksheet. Or if you want of number of times to copy a worksheet then periodically save and close the workbook.
You can also take a new worksheet in the place of copying the worksheet and to take a new worksheet work on the following given steps:-

  • Open Ms Excel and create a new work book and then like a single worksheet and delete all other worksheet.
  • Then try to format the worksheet by using the data, text, charts etc which is having set default in it and then save it by using the save as button from the file menu.
  • Type the name of the worksheet in the File name box and then click template (*.xltx) in the Save as type menu and then save it.
  • You should use the given below code:- 
  • Sheets.Add Type:=path\filename, to insert the template.
  •  Whereas path\filename,  contains the full path and file name for your sheet template.
