What is Svchost.exe application error in windows?

You might have seen while working in computer that windows operating system runs an automatic updates and receives an error message “The instruction at "0x745f2780" reference memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be read”. Due to this error system hangs up or automatic restart your computer.

I can fix my PC by following given below steps:-

• Open the svchost.exe – Application Error dialog box and then follow the given below steps:-

1. Click on start button and type services.msc in the run command box and then press enter.
2. Locate and double click on Automatic update which appears in the details pane.
3. Then click on the Log On option.
4. You have to be sure that the Local System account option is selected and Allow service to interact with desktop check box is clear.
5. Then click on the general tab and be sure that the Automatic option is selected in the startup list.
6. Click on start to start the service under service status and if it is already running then live it.
7. Again repeat the second step by using sixth step for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS).

• Now you should reregister windows update comments and to do this follow the given below steps:-

1. Click on start button and type REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL and then hit enter.
2. If you are prompted with "DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded" message then click ok.

1.  Form your desktop double click on My computer and then click Properties.
2.  Click on Automatic Updates tab form the System properties dialog box.
3. Then click on Turn of Automatic Updates and then click ok.
4.  Then restart your computer.
5. When windows screen appears after restart then use the Windows Update Web site to install updates manually.
6. Then turn on automatic updates, after you install the updates manually.

You can also use third party repair tool to fix Svchost.exe application error.
